Dear Grace Family,
We are certainly living is some very interesting times. We are all still learning how to adjust to new schedules, keeping our distance, etc. Not only does this present a challenge in our personal lives, it has an impact on our church as well. The best way to help each other connect is through technology and this is what we are seeking to do to keep everyone informed. So, allow me a moment to update you on a few ministries that are continuing in this difficult time.
Services. Each Sunday at 10:30am we will continue to gather to study God’s Word. We do not have a worship team, but I would encourage you to begin at 10 am with prayer asking God to open your heart to the message, then log on to Hillsong Worship on You Tube to worship the Lord in song. This will prepare you for the Word God has for you.
Ministry. Since physical interaction is extremely limited, we have had to use caution in this area. The church had some diapers in the nursery that have been at Grace since we started. We knew of a young mom in the community who was in need and donated the diapers to help their need. We have been in contact through Facebook, texting, etc. to check in on folks and see how they are doing and if they had any prayer needs. At this point everyone seems to be doing well. We have a blood drive next Tuesday afternoon. We have some folks from Grace serving and cleaning in preparation for that community service. The pregnancy center needs diapers and we have donated our remaining diapers to them. A Facebook prayer page was established, and the women of the church have been invited to join. We are in the process of putting homeless bags together to be handed out to those in need. We are not aware of any current needs of the foster care ministry. We have sent flowers to folks who have lost loved ones, and made meals for those who have been in need.
Virtual Prayer meeting. We are currently working on developing a virtual prayer meeting where you will be able to log in and connect and pray with each other from your computer in the comfort of your home. We are in the beginning stages of developing this and more information will follow on how to log in and connect. If you have a prayer need, we encourage you to send your request to our church email address, gracecommunitystaff@gmail.com and we will be in prayer for you. Please indicate if you would like us to let others know the request so we can be in prayer for and with you.
Good Friday: At 7pm next Friday, we will gather for our Good Friday service. We encourage you to buy some grape juice and matzoh (or saltines) and join me as we study God’s word and celebrate communion together.
In these difficult circumstances, God is still on throne ruling and reigning! Ministry continues, although in non-conventional ways. We are grateful and thankful for all who have been involved in different ministries and who continue to serve the Lord and Grace during this time. Please continue to pray for one another and feel free to check in by sending a text, making a phone call, sending an email, etc. God will bring us all through this for his honor and glory.
God Bless,
Pastor Dave
